​In May 2024, during our travels in Taiwan, we met the head of the Ma Tai Tribe Village in Hsinchu County who invited us to visit their community.  The following day, during our hike to reach the village, the chief shared their aspirations to protect the natural landscape and improve the community’s economic future.  However, they face significant challenges- most notably, a lack of resources and expertise, and, limited access to education and opportunities for the village’s children.

 

We chose to believe this encounter was a calling.  We were already environmentally conscious and searching for a means in which to contribute.  From that moment, the Seed and Tree Collective idea was born.

 

The Seed and Tree Collective is committed to inspiring the youth of under-represented communities to become stewards of the environment  by providing access to quality education, essential resources, and life-changing opportunities.
